Hi everyone
I'm looking to make my own speakers but I'm very new to this and I'm learning how to do it slowly. I'm going to start with a pair of small bookshelf speakers but I have no idea where to find the components. I can build the enclosure easily but need to source some speaker drivers, and for my next one, crossover circuits etc.
I'm in Perth, Australia, so a local store would be good to cut out postage costs, but I understand that a lot will have to come online.
Can anyone recommend places or sites?
Thanks

Hi Megamoo, In Aus the choices are limited, I think there used to be a dealer in Perth who stocked focal drivers.
Wes components in Sydney has a range of speakers, and crossover parts, and hazaudio in NZ ships to Aus and seems to have a good range.
That might be a start.
regards,
Tony.

well, parts express will have everything you need, but also do a google search on specific parts, such as tang-band woofers/drivers, aura speakers, etc, to expand to more options. that should lead you down a tree of options to follow for quite some time, untill you have found just what you want
I too was going to suggest Parts Express. I don't know if they ship down under, but you could at least become aware of the sorts of products available, and perhaps find alternative sources.
In addition to drivers, PE sells crossovers and crossover components, including crossover circuit boards empty so you can configure them to fit your needs. They have charts and stuff too so you can look up values for specific crossover frwequencies at certain impedances for drivers. Very handy.

Hey I tried searching for Hazaudio but found nothing that matched. Are they still around?
Thanks
Daanz I believe that he has shut down the business due to other commitments. Apparently the business was a part time affair and his other work commitments grew.
WES is probably the best place locally in Aus that I am aware of.
