Just looking for some heatsinks like 10" wide. Farnell and RS are too expensive really, I know it's a different country but there was some being some on a website from a company in australia for about a 1/3 of the price they are here. Does anyone know anything like that?

Yes I know jimbo but shipping to the UK would make it not worth it.
I find ebay expensive actually but I guess the odd bargain could be had.

I would recommend Antek (John Ango) in the US, except shipping to Britain would very cost prohibative.
You could have a look at rectangular Architechural "tubing."
This is 6061 T-6 aluminum with square edges and can be purchased in 3 x 2" with a 0.125" wall thickness.

Someone mentioned Birmingham Aluminum in the past, see if you can find them.
Best, Bill
Aluminium Heatsinks, Aluminium Extrusions, Aluminium Extruded products, Aluminium profiles - Birmingham Aluminium
When I spoke to them a (good) few years ago, they had a minimum order of a couple of metres, but I'm sure you could sell on any spare here.
Boscoe,
Just had a quick look at postage to UK and for 2 of Conrad's biggest heat sinks would be about 43 quid (your money) sea mail. So look at total cost before you decide.
No harm done giving Julian at Conrad a call to see what he can do. He's supplied a couple of group buys to the States including extra machining so it must be cost effective at some level.

Okay thanks guys I have sent an email to Birmingham heatsinks as they are fairly close to me and I think they make a heatsink that I already have which is a big bonus!
