where can I buy this perfboard and turrets ?

Hello fellow diy colleagues,

I like the perfboard and turret looks of what Shine7 has used in this project : DIY 6922 / E88CC Tube preamp

Can anyone point me to these models ? Especially the board, I can't find anything like it on shops I visit.

Here is one I just got off ebay and is very thick. Haven't used it yet, but looks to be ideal for prototyping. They have 8, 9 pin ones and kits.

Turrets You can find on 70's gear, but those seem gold plated.
The board seems to be an ordinary one, but silk-screened perhaps.

WARNING : the 9-pin holes PCB linked above has in fact twice 10-pin holes. Difficult to use with 9-pin sockets. Anyway, got 2X2 of them from seller, no problem with the transaction.

What is the diameter of the holes for the turrets?

the plates are 193x144 mm in size and 2mm tick. Quality product from what I see.

• the large holes are 4.5 mm
• the tube holes are 2 mm
• the turret holes are something between 1.1 and 1.2 mm.

Difficult to be exact with my caliper. I would suggest to buy 1.2mm turrets and if they do not fit use a 1.2mm drill bit to slightly extend the holes.

I think the original author mounts the turrets in the large holes, the one circled in red in the attached pic. So 4.5mm it'll be.

ouch, I stand corrected. Anyway, at least it's Europe so I can expect sane shipping costs.

As the spacing between two holes is 36° also in common 9-pin sockets, I don't see any issues, at least as long as the circle's and the individual hole's diameters are apt.
