I had mentioned in a thread at AA that the Fostex FE206E seemed limited in highs.
Moray James sent me an e-mail suggesting I try grounding the the + or - speaker leads to the driver chassis
The improved clarity when I ground the + lead to the chassis is nothing short of startling.
There seems to be a very slight loss of dynamics - and loss of two or three DB - I'm having to set the preamp a little higher.
there also is what seems to be a slight loss of bass as if the frequency response has been skewed in favor of the highs - however, it sounds so good, I wonder if what sounds like a _loss_ is where in fact muddiness has been cleared up.
I hope some EE type or somebody who knows what is going on here will explain what is happening here.
Is this actiing like a Zobel?
