What to use as a mic pre-amo?
Hi Guys,
I have an Iriver T30 which I wish to use for field recordings. Unfortunately it's Line In socket does not have a built in microphone pre-amp.
are you aware of any device that is small in size that i could use as a pre-amp to bring the mic output up to line level?
Some guys are using cassette recorders, but their size and need of AC power defeats the purpose really.
I'm all ears!🙂
Thanks,
Mark

The That1510/1512 chips are good mic preamps. You could build a small preamp using those, as not many aditional parts are needed. They will probably work fine using two 9V batteries as the power source.
