I think the chassis at least looks a lot like the Exodus DPL-15. The cone and magnet seems to differ though.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

No drivers that resembles the 909 drivers in their catalouge though, probably a custom design.

i think ive found the woofers, they look an aweful lot like the Peerless SLS 400 SWR, not the regular sls 400.
also i think im more geared toward the 907 ,being 12 in woofers.

Chris, close but not the one we're searching for. The "spider legs" is also thicker/heavier on the 909 and aslo they do'nt have neoprene surroundings. One more thing: Each 909 driver have almost 100 dB/w sensitivity, compensating for the open baffle.
Exodus
The Jamo R909 bass driver chassis for sure is the same as Exudos DPL-15. I suspect that it derives from some manufacturer in Ch-a or K-rea.

!!!
Chris, I was talking about the chassis of the bass driver, not the whole driver. The Jamo driver has quite another cone, surrond and magnet than the Exodus, but they both share the same molded chassis. This chassis is probably made in Asia and sold to different loudspeaker driver vendors around the world.
It can also be that this Asian manufacturer builds the whole driver
accordigng to customer specifications, using this chassis.

I was looking into doing some R909 clones also and came across this. 100db 1w/1m and it looks damn close to the O.E woofer. http://www.bcspeakers.com/product.php?id=0000000067
Any thoughts?

James, B&C, or more correctly, the maker of B&C drivers, is definitely involved in the 909 design.
I do not think that this 15NW76 is the one used in 909, the 909 drivers have lower moving mass, important in dipoles, 55 grams. Xmax is bigger, 13 mm, Fs is also a bit lower at 24 Hz and they also have a foam surround which the proposed driver has not.
Another thing I've seen is that, judging by the driver chassis appearance, Lyngdorf-Steinway also seem to use B&C drivers:
Steinway Lyngdorf - Model D Speaker.
I have succumbed and have settled with three paralleled Visaton W-300S in my dipoles, and I'm very happy with the sound.
Visaton - Lautsprecher und Zubehör, Loudspeakers and Accessories
