What DIY/ELECTRONICS Books Are In Your Library?

I just thought it might be beneficial for some of us if everyone listed the books they have in their DIY/ELECTRONICS library...

I will take out some time this afternoon and post mine, what do you have, also if you found one or more books particularly good please post comments along with your list.

Oh and post everything would you please, like for instance one of the first electronics books, if you can call it that, I ever purchased and still have (I lost many in a nasty divorce) was;

Nice topic, maybe it is a good idea to also give some rating of the book. Is it good/helpfull and also the level (novice, medium, advanced)

I have the Dutch version of :
"The Art of Electronics" from Horowitz and Hill (part 1 and 3).

I think its "medium" level (maybe their is a better word for it). However I think some topics are a bit hard to folow (too much condensed to get a real good understanding).

If any of you fine people find yourself with a copy of one of the books on my wish list that you aren't using or have a surplus copy of I would very much appreciate hearing from you, I would love to add these books to my collection and would be most happy to purchase them from someone here or, crazy as it may seem, if you should wish to donate a copy to this currently injured and now out of work DIY fanatic, I would forever be in your debt.

Good books

Hi folks,
I seemed to have collected a few good books aver the last couple of years :

Valve Amplifiers , Morgan Jones.
Comprehensive, biased toward push-pull circuits.

Beginners Guide to Audio Design, Bruce Rozenblit.
A good book to start your collection.

How to Build Electronic Equipment, J.Richard Johnson.
A 1962 vintage classic. Very practical.and highly relevant still today.

The Best of Audion, Luciano Macri.
Excellent selection of projects to build with schematics, parts lists
and layout drawings/photos.

Glass Audio Projects. (www.audioXpress.com)
17 vacuum tube designs similar to Audion above, in magazine style.

Practical Electronics For Inventors, Paul Scherz.
A textbook with a difference for everything except valves.

I am satisfied with all these books and don't know of any others I would need, although I still collect circuits etc off the web.

I found this book quite interesting... i don't believe everything he says thou.... it an my Basic Electronics (a good foil to Morgan Jones' book) have gone walk-about.

It would take me a day to even start to cover off what is in my library so i'll post a couple pictures (which cover off about 2/3 of my audio (& related) volumes).

I have loads of books, all the usual stuff; RDH, Terman, Reich, Deketh, Sandeman, Linsley Hood (all of them), Crowhurst (most of them), Morgan Jones, Zur Linde, Hickman, Self, Rosenwhatsit, Bullock, and thats just what I can think of without looking; far too many.......

40 pages of his projects
10 pages of his OTL patent.

That's it. I did not care for his projects (except maybe the grounded grid preamp) and don't think I would understand his patent.

So that leaves the basic electronics and audiophile type of knowledge...which I thought I knew allready. It is exactly this type of knowledge which free navy training manuals downloadable on the net are actually better in (especially the tubes bit) That's why I thought the book sucks.

First mail I receive will get the book sent to him...or her. (Sorry! It has been claimed allready!..wow that's fast ;-)

Didn't notice any references listed specific to PCB design and layout issues.

Is this topic adequately covered in one of the more general electronics/opamps books mentioned, or does someone have a suggestion for a really good (beginner to advanced, soup to nuts) reference book covering this topic?

Not mentioned above is J. Carr's DC Power Supply book. A good source fdor practicle little items like voltage doublers or tripplers - invaluable for finding a way to use salvaged but otherwise unuable transformers.

It's not in my library but in the local public library which I can walk to.

oftentimes when I have read one of these things i sell it off on EBay. electronics books get a 1/2-way decent price.

my collection of Electronics magazines goes back to 1964 whenI first became licensed as a ham radio operator -- these have survived 6 moves.

regrettably, I threw out all my back issues of Audio and HiFi-News and Record Review.
