I know later on he bacame Fred deickmann?. But he was a good designer no doubt about. Not mentally calloused like others about technical specs.

If a vishay bulk foil resistor sounded better or an OSCON, he would use it. In spite of the fact the audio waveform was never altered on "high end" test equipment.

Fred was brilliant but difficult.

I hired him briefly to refine a complex Sallen Key design for a DAC. He was just outstanding, very down to earth, and unbelievably knowledgeable.

I loved his swashbuckling style, but he left quite a trail........
