any input or suggestions would be great thanks!
the yellow hue in the middle of the screen is actually the projector, not the globe.
I assume something has somehow been burnt...
any ideas people?

From what the www says, this has a 3-lcd panel optical system.
There will be a systen of mirrors &/or prisms to combine the 3 images before the projection lens.
2 possible causes I'm guessing:
1) something in the optics has become displaced - was the projector bumped? You might find a physical adjustment for gross convergence.
2) the convergence electronics has gone out of alignment. There is probably a service adjustment for this - some sort of menu accessible by entering the service mode.
How you access the service mode I do not know - it could be by pressing an odd combination of buttons on the remote control - service manual would help a lot there.

I got the second projector that I'd already paid for...
it also has red ghosting...
after doing a bit of research, it became apparent, that this means the projector is completely f*cked and is nothing more than rubbish..
not happy...

Then you've nothing to lose by physically manipulating the position of the red or magenta lcd panel to get it into the right position
