RIFA PEH169 was known to be a good one.
But it is rarely seen on this forum.
Why? Is there any thing bad about it?

Rifa PEH169 is about the best in the big capacitor league.
Downside: Rifa's can only be mounted standing as it contains fluid and a pressure valve on top.
The PEH169 was never widely available, and it has been discontinued.
Siemens(Epcos) Sikorel capacitors are the very best, but very expensive. You do not wish to know how much a 47.000/63V Sikorel B41550 costs. Sikorels should be used for very fast circuits, not for the powersupply of power amplifier output stages.
Overhere you can't just buy them around the corner, and i'm inbetween the producers. I can imagine it is hard to get hold of them in other places, and probably for a lot more than i'd pay for them.

Very occasionally you can find Epcos Sikorel as surplus on Ebay, at least on German Ebay. I managed to buy smaller values (2200uF/100V & 4700uF/63V) with recent data codes for a few Euros a piece 😀

Just a suggestion: Buy larger caps of a more standard brand and parallel with a smaller Sikorel, i.e. one with 35 mm diameter. You should still benefit from their very low Impedance at high frequencies. Btw, BC components should also be very good and still cheaper, you could also parallel bigger caps with a smaller one for a similar effect.

The first Jensen's I purchased were 19.00 USD each. These are 10,000 ufd 63 volt. Ten were 220.00 delivered from the factory. Last bunch, 47,000 ufd 25 volt came to 275.00 for 10 shipped factory direct.
These are about as good as there is. 27.50 USD for an electrolytic is a long way from cheap.
I doubt if any of the ones mentioned above are any better quality. The couple of buck Epcos sounld like a much better purchase.

I paid $21 the piece for a lot of 50 Sikorel B41570, 10KuF/63V, in 1988, bought wholesale in Germany.
The Jensen 4-pole sounds like a better deal.

The pressure release valve is inbetween the mounting holes.

i tried 4-pole Frako electrolytic capacitors when they were produced 2 decades ago, and compared them to Sikorels.
The Frako cap is like the predecessor of the Danish 4-pole capacitor, i gathered. Paper in oil Jensen caps are very nice.

It looks like my slim-line 2U amps have just developed a bit of a lump 🙂. A bit of a re-think of the layout I guess - maybe some large-ish aluminium covers in black...

This sounds like a good deal. Much better than retail distributors. How do you go about making such an order? Don't see any way of doing this on their web site.

What is the best 22,000/10,000/6800uf caps for emotiva xpa-5? It requires 100vdc. Reference audio mods recommended me the Jensen 4 pole 6800uf 100 vdc capacitors, the Mundorf mlytic hc 22000uf 100vdc, or the Nichicon KG 10,000 uf/ 100 vdc. What would you recommend as my secondary capacitors for the power supply filtering.
