There are dooers and there are dreamers. Terry was a dooer.
That is all that has to be stated.

I live with a partner going through a similar battle. My best wishes go to those whom Terry Cain has left behind. I do not know them or him but I do know that it is people like Mr. Cain that have made this forum such a great place to be.

To him, there were only two sorts of people: the friends he had and the friends he had not yet met. A great guy, and a big loss for all who knew him.

It's a pity I was never able to meet him.
My condolences to his family and loved ones.. It's quite surreal that he still managed to give me advice on glue choices back in April... I didn't know he was ill.
Every time a community loses someone as respected as Mr Cain, it is a shock and a tremendous tragedy for those who knew him and also those who didn't.
I pass on my sincerest condolences to his family and close friends,

Fred,
not surreal but reality. That sickness can hit you as sudden as a car crash or it can be "mercyful" and reduce you to a vegetable for years to come. I don't know what would have been Terry's choice, had he had a choice - but I can guess.
Still very sad,

Much sadness.
And I feel for his family who must take on the burden of his medical costs.
Peace and be safe to all.

But it is nice that his work lives on. Good job, Terry!
A good friend of mine had lost his path in life - he's been in trouble with the law, and his grades are abysmal. I won't give the exact details, as they're not really important.
He has good woodworking ability, though, and it was actually my showing him Terry Cain's work that led to his current interest in carpentry, especially in relation to speakers.
Though I have never met him, I think that Mr. Cain would have wanted his legacy to inspire a future generation of craftsmen to continue his proud traditions.
This, I feel, is the greatest monument of all. To be an amazing craftsmen and builder of speakers of one thing, but to influence and improve the lives of those who follow you through your work - that is immortality.
Very sad news indeed, but his creations will live on.
My condolences to his family and friends.

As I said on the BIB thread when Greg first told us:
He was a craftsman, a canny speaker designer, and an enthusiast who tried to help people consider different options rather than following a proscribed path.
More importantly, he was just a decent bloke. The world is a little emptier for his passing. But we'll remember him in our work. It's a good memory and memento to have. My heartfelt sympathy to Leslie in this difficult time.

I am sorry for all that knew him better

I only saw his work from pictures and
