Suddenly, every now and then, my Rotel RCD1072 makes the oddest noise.
Sounds like an old electric alarm clock. The kind that buzzed rather than rang, and about the same volume. It goes away before I can get across the room to investigate, so I can't tell you much more.
I generally leave the machine powered up, with a cd in it. For what that's worth.
It's only happened three times in the last three weeks, but it scares the hell out of me every time.
I've moved the machine and taken the cover off. At least I stand a chance of laying eyes and ears on it when it happens next. Which of course will be never 🙂
Anybody ever heard of anything like this?

Old equipment often is sensitive to mobile phones.Could it be a relay oscillating? Blind guess. Good luck. Bill
