Hi again,
originally i posted this question in "bypass HDAMs" thread, but got no replies.
Perhaps i will have more luck here.
My question is: can HDAMs in my modded Marantz 6000 ose be the bottleneck which does not allow the cdp to reproduce good bass?
The bass of my brother's unmodded Sony 202ES from 1994 is much better.
I've all the major mods to my CDP have been done:
Tent's XO3 clock + independant PSU, separate PSU for analog, all three PSU-s are in a separate case, better caps, case dampening, muting transistors removed, etc.
Do you think the bass can be improved by replacing the HDAMs with op-amps?
I like the other qualities of my cdp, so if further modding could cure the bass problem, I'd be happy.
Or the bass I get now is all Marantz's VAM1201 transport is capable of?
Your help would be much appreciated.

maybe there are blocking capacitor in the signal path? If it has relatively small capacitance there could be such effects. Please make some photos of your marantz inside.
