I am looking for an experienced DLP projector builder or repairer or designer who I will pay to modify my DLP Projector. I have 3 DLPs in varying states of repair that I can supply for cannibalisation.
The task involves replacing the light source with a IR LED, removing the colour wheel & other modifications necessary to project a weak IR image.
I will pay WELL for good work. I require somebody with a history of completing started projects. Technical knowledge/understanding of the electronics circuits is a preference but not a necessity.
I don't require construction of a projector case/housing or other woodwork.
Or can anyone suggest a better forum on which to post this topic ? Maybe an employment/jobs forum for these types of technical guys ?

A I am likley the most educated person around who might answer the questions..I will do exactly that.
The work that needs be done is of an engineering nature. The color wheel in a DLP is part of the operating system and it is checked cosntantly for proper operation, via a feedback circuit that measures rotation.
Infocus utilizes a light sensor to predict when the color wheel has rotated, and otehrs use a sensor mark on the side of he colorhweel motor, or colorwheel proper.
As for the power supplies, the units check for proper operation of the power supply (bulb supply) on start up and during operation (voltage and current draw sensing and other operational paramters are observed.
The full schematic and knowledge of the given PS's behaviour is required and the ability to build dummy loads for both the color wheel and PS operational sensor systems.
Then you can put an IR source in there.
All in all, you are looking at many $K of bucks, to have someone else figure this out for you. I won't be doing it, so I'm off your list.
