Small VGA and SVGA resolution monitors cost too stinking much, so I thought about stripping a projection panel. Projection panels often have all the inputs you could want, no backlight to worry about, and you know that there won't be anything blocking the light getting to the LCD, after all, this is what they are made for.
Projection panel LCD's are between 8 inch and 10 inch diagonal.
Sounds ideal for a DIY projector.
I did some searching on Ebay today (January 26, 2006), and found these decent LCD Projection Panels. At the time I found them, the bids were running from $10 to $50 plus shipping.
All of these are TFT color and have at least a powersupply included, most have all the necessary cables, too.
