My ASUS sound card now doesn't seem to have any of the stuff it had before the W11 "upgrade" last month.
I don't "do" anything much with this computer except play the occasional music but I do want to be able to use the small subwoofer I have under my desk to take the bass load off my small desk top speakers
I tried updating the drivers for the xonar but it seems nothing happened.
Do I need a new sound card? I'm old and stuck in analogue so forgive me and advise me please

If your sound card is old, there probably aren't any W11 drivers for it. Someone on another forum posted a similar situation to yours, and a potential solution. I'll see if I can find it.

A new stand alone USB soundcard is only $60- posted to me; I may try that as an option too
JRivers 30 is giving problems too with each W11 update PITA

That may be the best option. I use foobar2000, so no issues with Win11. I don't use any streaming services either.

Can Foobar do the sub output split and DSP?
I'll try the cheap external soundcard it only being so cheap.
I seem to recall being able to do all of this stuff in W2000Pro and a Turtle Beach soundcard way back in the dark ages.

SQ on Foobar is excellent but I miss that ability to send the bass to a separate sub
Recommendations there?
Recommendations there?
No, but I'm sure there are a ton of plug-ins. Don't have a sub for the desktop. I run a basic gaming computer, with Realtek 7.1 out the back. Says it's got 24/192 playback capability. I just use the built-in analog stereo out to my amp/speakers.
