I just found a VU-LYTE III - it has a lens thats a little
bigger than a CD - I want to make it into a LCD projector

I put my 5in PSONE lcd with the brightness all the way up
and was able to get a some what bright usable but small
image - 2 foot by 2 foot at 10 feet away - that shocked me -
but thats what a big lens can do for you - thats what there
using with the TV projectors -

I would like to keep it the way it looks now - it looks cool,
has any one just put all the stuff into it and used it as a
LCD projector - if so how, or any tips - I am going to use it
that way - and because it can use low light - I will use
a halogen flood light - yes I know the light has to be
under the LCD

I removed all the wires and old electronic junk - the wires
were cracking and falling apart -

I guess I would put the lcd on top of frensnel lens and that
on top of a light - make a small box for it all - and put it
were the paper used to sit - I think I am going to
have to get the LCD close to the lens ???

here is a pic of the projector

most of those old big opaque projectors have amazingly high quality lenses, around 135mm diameter, usually 18" focal lenght, all glass coated triplet (atleast thats what my lens was from a TS-7 (the spotlight 7) Bell and Howell opaque projector) My lens seems and looks identical to the one at diylabs for 119.99.

I suggest NOT using it for a PS1 screen. Look for a CRT lens thats bigger than the lcd, and you will have a big and bright image.

No, the PSONE is my bathroom tv 😀 just a test - I was thinking
about a laptop with a DVD plyer - or computer with a small LCD
- I would have to use a small LCD like a OHP lcd to keep it the
way it looks now - 12 inch and under or even smaller

I will make a PSONE projector using a CRT lens - I got the lens
for $10 and its plastic - yuck - I can even see plastic dust in the
lens asyembly and lines in the plastic lens were they poured it into
the mold - just sad 🙁 - hope its not to bad off to use

with what I have at the time -
