Vrds 10 Os

I have been told that the 10 is prone to operating system self destruct.
I myself have a VRDS 10 that seems to have went mad. After 4 laser replacements this has just got worse.
Can anybody recomend a DIY fix or diagnostic procedure please.
Ps I posted something like this a while ago and didnt want to bump my old thread.

Where or from who did you here this information from?
As I thought I have read just about everthing to do with the VRDS range, and have never come across this statement.
