voltage / supply question

Building my first chip amp for subwoofer duty.
The board i have calls for 30 volts.
How sensitive are these to over voltage.... my supply is at 34 v.
Should add some risistors to disipate the extra 4 volts?

It depends on the characteristics of the chip in use. Look at the data sheet.

If the data sheet does prohibit 34V, use a CRC supply, with the R large enough to drop the 4V.

An R large enough to drop 4V at standby current may drop 20V with load current

Replace the R with a regulator instead
