I am planning to use the Russian equivalent of 6V6 in a push-pull amp, possibly using Hammond 1650E 8K transformers for outputs. I plan to run the tubes at their 350V max rating, with about 30 mA of bias per tube. Is this an unwise move?
30mA is a bit hot for comfort , even with an old style 6V6. Otherwise I think you will find the Eastern Block valves are as good or better than the older RCA types.
Maximum dissipation is 34mA for 100%. Give them room to breathe, I would choose 20mA for around 70%. They will perform for years.

Seconded. also there are stories out there that these tubes dont like higher voltages, so i would stick to 300V B+ unless you have a big stash of these.
I bought a matched quad, so I guess I'm stuck with 300V B+. I'm planning for 250V screen. This gives me about 20V negative bias for 20 mA plate current, according to the curves.
The highest quiescent plate voltage increases the electron velocity, versus more moderate plate voltages.
When the higher velocity electron hits the plate, there may be secondary electrons. The Beam Formers will collect those electrons.
But, if the electron paths crowd to a small area or areas on the plate, it will cause hot spots on the plate.
Purchase an infrared temperature sensor, and measure the temperature at different parts of the plate.
As always, the best way to test the tubes is to use them in an amplifier of your choice, at the voltages and currents you want to use.
$0.04
adjusted for actual inflation, not just what the news media tells you.

I also have some 8K transformers that purport to be from Onetics. I may sling a pair on the bench and evaluate them for things like actual adherence to the 8k spec, as well as how much primary inductance they have. I got a bargain price for them, lower than similar product from Hammond.
