Visaton AL 200 - How small a cabinet??

I was looking to use the Visaton AL 200 as a mid woofer - running 100 to 400Hz. I prefer a sealed cabinet. Given I am going active, how small a cabinet can I go to and still get a flat FR with this driver in the frequency range I am looking at? I want to be under 20L.
Also, has anyone used this driver OB? (in case the sealed cab idea is not workable)
 
Going with a passive xover you have between (closed) 8-12L here with a 10 liter.

Here a compensation of 1,5-2,2mH (this one a 2,2mH simulation) for a relaxed 12-14 L (here in a 12L closed box). In this case it should not be close to 10L (<10/12L) because of resonant frequency close to 100Hz.

I also would like to build an enclosure with the AL200 thumping 90-400hz.

Didn’t see any more posts, wondering how you made out.

I’m new at this calculating enclosure volume and crossovers. Visaton recommends vented enclosures so what did you go with and at what size? I’m not limited by a certain size box. If vented did you use their bass reflex vent?

As for the crossover, the AV receiver will determine the bottom end at around 90 since the sub handles <90 so what size inductor would work with the AL200 @400hz? Is that the only component I’d need to make this work?

And the biggest question is of course…how did it sound?

I ended up buying the W200S and am building a T-TQWT. A friend has the AL200 and loves them but at 3X the price it made it tough! I also went in a different direction for the overall speaker project. Please note this driver is a woofer rather than a subwoofer.

For vented you would go with the 21 L internal volume as said earlier. In a vented you might need a highpass as well as the inductor for the lowpass (depending on how much power you are using). The value I get is 3.2mH for a first order inductor at 400Hz. I'm no expert on these things, hence why I post here 😉

If you want to do a sealed box so it rolls off at about 90Hz and no need for highpass you will need 25 Litre (see attached) but you will lose 10 dB potential which is not desirable. Also shown is vented box 65-70L internal to achieve 35 Hz. That means, depending on the type of music and how much you like bass you may not always need a subwoofer.

Don't you have a tweeter (/+mid)? What's your setup (/+xover)?
Anyway, you can look at my second post, as an idea.
