Vibration Resistant Filler?

Hello,

I am refurbishing an old open baffle speaker. So I am mating a new plate into where the old electrostatic driver was housed. Problem is the frame is not perfectly flush, as there is a little recess where a (2) cross members were located. The void is about the size of a typical USB flash drive. I believe my best option is to fill this void so the surface is perfectly flush for the plate to mount to and prevent unwanted transmission/cancellation.

I am not sure what is the best remedy. I do not want to install some type of rubber or elastic, as I fear they will compress over time and start moving around causing problems. I am sure wood filler will rattle out in a heartbeat. The only guess I have is epoxy. Any ideas? Thanks

This is a trick told by the car service centre.

We have a God statue fitted on the dash. When I told that it comes off even after using the two part glue, he(the mechanic) told me to mix some cotton(wool). The statue has never come off after that.
