Hi
Have just received a pair of Ventus EZ kits (great service again Brian, thanks) and am looking at upgrading from the Grado SR80s I have used for the last fifteen years now that I think I will be listening on phones a lot more often.
Looking at a pair of nice orthodynamics (Hifiman or Audeze) and a few of the models available look like they represent either a challenging load or require a LOT of oomph (HifiMan HE-6 reputedly the hardest-to-drive load on the headphone market).
Will the Ventus be man enough or am I expecting too much of such a design?
Thanks
Mark

I tried all the Audeze cans recently, and they are not too difficult to drive, even for a consumer portable player like my Sansa Fuze, which is not enough to drive my AKG K701s. Beware, if you audition the LCD3 you will have no option but to purchase it. You have been warned! 🙂
I'm adding a Legato with headphone to a friend's Buffalo2. It looks similar to Ventus. I'm looking forward to trying it with my hungry AKGs.
Brian, is the Legato v3 headphone amp the same as Ventus?
Thanks
Rich

Yes - it is essentially the same. 🙂 I use the legato with headphones quite a lot - and I thoroughly enjoy it.
