I am not a SONY TA-5650 expert and I don't yet have one (it's on the way to me), but I thought these are built with 2SJ18 or 2SK60 and they look different from the ones you are selling.
The amp which is on the way to me is working properly, but I am looking into replacement parts to ensure long life for my amp.

Hi I think you have confusion this is the small vfet which is used in phono stage in SONY TA-5650.The main vfets are 2SJ18 and 2SK60 those comes with metal packing and big.
That must be the case as I don't know much about this amplifier yet. Thank you for the correction and sorry for my comment.
Do you know how many of these 2SK79 v-fets are used in the 5650 and are they prone to damage or getting burnt?
If these are working fine I am interested in byuing them.

I have a 5650, never had those blow. At that price though it may be worth it just in case. People do also use them for their own designs. Remember to check/change the
"Death diodes" and some resistors. There is much on the internet about it.

Thank you for the schematic and the additional information. The amplifier I am going to recieve is working properly, at least it was tried and its sound was good. Despite of this I will take it to a technician to check and if needed to change old or faulty parts to ensure further faultless years.
Vencel. If you look on the internet, you will see that there are some veractor diodes that control bias current to the VFET's. These work until they fail, they are something of an achilles heal of the whole range. They are cheap to change but if they blow, the VFET's are often destroyed. I suggest you read up on it.
This is one writeup on the issue.

Thanks a lot!
Please PM if your offer is still valid and send me your PP address where I can transfer the money.
Can you recommend any good quality varactor diodes?

The ones in it (if not already changed) will be around 45 years old, like the rest of the amp. The new ones will probably last at least the same time.Is it enough to replace them once or should it be done every so time?
