Has anyone attempted to do this.....just regulating the driver board B+ and B- while leaving the current source and output stage on the rails???? Just curious what this might do to the character of the amp. I would think the S/N would be alot better. If this is at all possible.....

It can be done, but would be backwards in a sense. A differential has a built-in immunity to noise and such (CMRR) on the rails, whereas the output has comparatively poor CMRR.
Of course, you could argue that anything that manages to effect the front end will be amplified more than anything in the output stages.
If you build a separate rail for the front end I'd suggest leaving it on all the time. It only draws a watt or two and the amp would be that much closer to being warmed up.
