Using Raw LCD screen with OHP

Can a raw lcd screen taken from a laptop be used to project through it with the use of an OHP or custom build projector
Does anyone know where I can buy either raw screens or lcd projection panels in Argentina or Brazil
Shipping seems to be 250 dollars just for a panel package.

Hi,

you CAN use a Laptop Display but you have to use the whole Notebook!!!
So you must put your Notebook into the OHP!!!
That means, you can only do things with that Notebook!!!
You can NOT use a Playstation or other PC's,
because making a Controller for the Display is impossible!!!

I thought a lcd projection panel is trasparent? How do you shine a light through a laptop screen left intact?

Hi dracul,

you have to remove the backlight!!!
Like a normal TFT Flatscreen!!!
But I have tried removing the backlight from 2 old Laptops: It is very difficult!!!
I was able to removed it from the first one, but the second one didn't work!!!

these NEC lcd screens are going for £50 a piece which seems like a good deal to me, specially since I won't have to spend money on useless plastic casing. Would it be possible to buy the necessary input circuitary for this screen?

Possible? Yes. Practical? No. They stuff you need to get it running would be ATLEAST 400 dollars. You are better off just buying a monitor.
