Using a capacitor as a filter on video cables

I feel dumb asking this, but can you use a capacitor to filter out noise on video cables? Since video operates at a real high freq, could you just attach a small film and foil cap to filter out any stuff from like power supplies and stuff? Or would a ferrite clamp be much better?

Sorry if this is dumb, just thinking of ways to make stuff better.

I have some small value film and foil caps I could try this to see if it works, I just don't want to mess up anything. Does it mess up the polarity too, like if you did this to S-Video, you would have to do it to all the channels so the polarities stay consistant?
