high esr to reduce risk of ring.
very small size to allow very short routes.

does the type of the capacitor affects the quality of sound? at decoupling? like ceramic, polyster film (box) which is pretty commonly used, polypropelene? upto what factor it makes difference?

The purpose of the typical 0.1 uF (usually ceramic) as a local decoupler is not to provide soundstage or "layers" as you claim. The purpose of that capacitor is to make the amplifier less prone to high frequency instabilities. As such, it is wise to heed Andrew's advice regarding "very short routes". You should solder it directly to the supply pins on the bottom of the board. Keep the leads short and clip all excess. A good capacitor keeps its legs together.

just now installed the .01uf styroflex now the upper mids and highs have more layers... thank you...

You can certainly experiment around with different local "audio quality" bypass caps in an attempt to provide more "clarity" "soundstage" "layers" etc. Try bigger values and follow above advice regarding short routes etc for best results. But leave the 0.1 uF ceramic in place. You need it for stability.

I am sorry guys.... to push the carpet of some dreamers

Uncle Charlie is a very old folk.... 61 years old...i tried to compare capacitors several times....listening and using instruments.... other guys did that..it is all fashion, all a big dream..they sound absolutelly the same.

If you perceive something different, is because the capacitor is not defective and the other one is defective..or because the capacitance is different (measure it to be sure)

We can feel some difference when electrolitic of 1uf and a non electrolitic..but the difference is really small and hard to perceive.

Sometimes we "want" something is different..and you will perceive the new one as different...it is because you want to.... it is not different....try a comparison, blind A to B, use relay or a mechanical switch..ask someone to operate the switch and then go voting..you will be surprised.

They all sound the same...the difference is how they look, the gimmick, the fashion and the magic of the unobtanium...they are absolutelly the same if not defective or not with wrong real value on it.

Many guys have tested..in the internet we have guitar guys trying different brands and making high quality audio recording..there are others with spectrum analiser, others trying using scope...no one of them could perceive differences in sound quality.

Yes, the 0.1 as decoupling helps a lot. because reduces the losses we have in electrolitics..because electrolitic is constructed alike a coil, and coil opposes to high frequency to cross..but if not an electrolitic, the 0.1 will make anything with sonics.

regards,

Carlos
