Hello, Guys.🙇♂️I am using Pi3b+ with picoreplayer OS for my main audio system. I have different DAC hats for my Pi but it can use one hat only at once. Thus, I want to use the inactive one as a stand alone dac for my PC. I purchased a usb to I2s converter from Suptronics and plug-in with my dac hats and power hat. However, there are no response from all my dac hats. I tried the coxial output from this converter and it worked. Therefore, I don't know how to fix. Does anyone use it before? Thank you so much.
Many of the DAC hats need initialization/control via I2C or GPIO, performed by their respective RPi linux driver. Also some use I2S master, some I2S slave. Have you checked your DACs conform the plain I2S-USB bridge?
I have asked the supplier if the USB-I2S bridge and this converter worked with their dac and connect to raspberry pi with usb. I also ask my r2r dac supplier and it should connect the 5v, 3.3V and 3 I2s pins for stand alone use. But I still not work. Is it possible to set the usb-i2s converter with rpi limux driver? Many thanks. Many of the DAC hats need initialization/control via I2C or GPIO, performed by their respective RPi linux driver. Also some use I2S master, some I2S slave. Which R2R DAC do you have? Exact specification is important. Even if no extra control lines are required (I2C, GPIOs), the I2S can have a number of incompatible configurations (e.g. master/slave, LJ/I2S format, 16/24/32 slot width).
No, it is not possible to tunnel a direct driver through USB.

Have you checked that the USB IF has been recognized by Linux and a driver has been installed for it?
Here’s a good read: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.c...external-usb-sound-card-and-set-it-as-default
… or install e.g. LibreELEC and check system audio settings. IF should show up.

This is my another R2r dac🙇♂️🙇♂️Which R2R DAC do you have? Exact specification is important. Even if no extra control lines are required (I2C, GPIOs), the I2S can have a number of incompatible configurations (e.g. master/slave, LJ/I2S format, 16/24/32 slot width).
