You would be gobsmacked how many people want to know if my PCBCAD software works under Win XP.
Some people just wont upgrade their Windows.
Whether its fear of the unknown or they are just tight fisted, I dont know.

Later Windoze have more crapware than you can shake a stick at, so much so that there literally are scripts named 'Decrapifier' that you need to launch to try and clean things up.

I like the new security features of Win 11 like TPM and secure boot.
I put a high price on my data which I have collected for 30 years.
I did fall foul of Windows in 2006.
I reinstalled Windows on my hard drive.
In Windows great wisdom it decided to format my back up drive too !
I did have some stuff on DVD's bit still lost quite a bit.
Needless to say I am much more careful now keeping stuff on a couple of flash drives.
I even keep a flash drive in the car in case of fire.

Windows giveth and Windows taketh away! Lots of times it’s better to run server versions and add what you need instead of remove what you don’t. The tentacles reach deep into everything you do and have on the system. Lots of older really functional software was orphaned by Windows by no longer having the needed drivers etc. Go old XP as a workhorse for lots of us!
I use Microchip's MPLAB X a lot and that only runs on 64 bit Windows now.Later Windoze have more crapware than you can shake a stick at, so much so that there literally are scripts named 'Decrapifier' that you need to launch to try and clean things up.
