TL;DR: I want to build a meaningful DIY audio system as a gift. Originally envisioned a tube amp tribute but am now adjusting expectations for something achievable within two weeks. Looking for recommendations on fast-turnaround builds, ideally leveraging my existing Raspberry Pi 5 while integrating quality components. Open to kits like those from IanCanada.
Hello DIYAudio Community,

Now, here’s the context:
I’ve been wanting to build a DIY audio system as a personal and meaningful gift, originally aiming for something reminiscent of a tube amp in honor of my father’s love for vintage gear. He fondly remembers using an old tube amp back in the early ‘70s and was genuinely disappointed when he had to "upgrade" to a Denon receiver just to get 5.1 surround sound. He’s a lifelong fan of jazz, classical, and classic rock, and he still has a solid turntable from the ‘70s along with all his original vinyl collection.
Given my constraints, I need to move quickly and ensure I can complete something in time for May 29. While I’ve tempered my initial vision, I still want the final product to feel special and tailored to his love of high-quality audio.
I have a Raspberry Pi 5 that I’d like to incorporate to minimize spend, but I’m open to integrating kits—such as those from IanCanada—if they’ll help streamline the process while maintaining quality. A custom case is part of the plan, either 3D printed or built from wood depending on feasibility.
I’d really appreciate guidance on:

- Kits or builds that strike a balance between quality and speed
- Integrating the Raspberry Pi effectively while achieving great sound
- Enclosure design ideas that fit both aesthetic and practical needs
- Tips on sourcing parts quickly
