i bought an sm pro audio di4v. It is a slightly improvement for my samplers instead of tracking them directly thru the preamp of my mixer. I know that some guys modded the sm pro audio 8 pre. It has the same opamps like the DI BOX the 4558. I want to upgrade them cause i read many bad things about this opamp.
The opamp should not suck much more current then the 4558, should have an great sound and an hotter output with as less noise as possible. Did anyone of you modded one of these di boxes? What is a good replacement for the 4558?
I will also recap the whole DI for Panasonic FM or FC for an better sound. Is there anything else i could do to upgrade it?
