Dear All,

With this email, I would like to announce the release of Ultimate Equalizer V7.

New Features Implemented in Ultimate Equalizer 7.0 – Digital

1. Implemented 2.1 and 2.2 loudspeaker system design screens. The 2.2 screen runs BBM mode as well.
2. Added 24bit/96kHz 2.0 stereo and 24bit/96kHz 5.1 Surround WAVE Player options to the existing 16bit/44.1kHz 2.0 stereo playback.
3. Data buffering option 2/3/4/5 buffers.
4. Subtle process timing adjustments for capture and playback.
5. Added “Clear Playlist” button in WAVE Player.
6. 512 bin data buffer implemented to reduce latency (72ms in linear-phase and 36ms in minimum-phase). This is perfect for audio-video playback. There is now a significant number of latency options to choose from.
7. In the MLS measurement system - windowing and scrolling improvements in Impulse Response processing.
8. Removed max frequency limit for filters. Allows you to mimic broad, gentle filtering slope (-6dB @ 20kHz) as per H. Moller, from B&K application Note 17-197.
9. Fixed “buffer size” bug affecting performance and automatic memory allocation when switching project files.
10. LED bar-graph display extinguishes when any player stops.
11. WAVE Player Mode will load speaker system configuration files (Project Files) via keyboard numeric command. Playback of wave files from valid playlist will start by pressing “Play” button.
12. Added 10-channel output (specifically for Delta1010LT 8outputs+SPDIF) selection from Preferences screen

UE7 is the second fully digital DSP version, that will see the analogue waveforms only at the loudspeaker terminals. This is due to LynxAES16 digital sound card and miniDSP ICE AES/EBU digital amplifiers. It is also a step-up in performance and features, making this release the best DSP engine ever released by Bodzio Software.

It might be time to revisit the question of whether UE can interface to HDMI 8-channel audio out.

Some time ago, the general consensus was that it was not possible or that you needed an actual video stream to be played back. However, there are various reports now that people have been able to get REW or EQ APO working with multi-channel HDMI audio without this restriction. While REW interfaces through ASIO via ASIO4all (and I have ceased to dream about ASIO support being added to your products), I have not been able to find out how EQ APO interfaces:

Here, an INTEL NUC with Celeron N2820 (a bay trail, similar to the Z37xx found in many current tablets) was used. Page 1 of the thread contains screenshots. Apparently, he selected the Intel graphics driver, and the only counterintuitive thing is that he the activated "signal improvement" tick box.

Can you look into this to check if the Intel driver is WASAPI exclusive mode?

Being able forego a motherboard with PCI-slot and the LT1010LT card, and instead use a laptop or even a tablet and interface to the AVR via HDMI would be a huge step forward!

By the way, one of the guys running REW via HDMI used a Surface Pro tablet. He had to install the graphics driver from the intel home page rather than use what Microsoft had preinstalled.

Hi capslock,

Yes, it looks like this may be currently the only way to get 8 digital channels out of a laptop.

Now, I think, it would be rather irresponsible for me to you give you blanket assurances, that all hardware will work with all hardware. All I can say, that not withstanding some peculiar HDCP issues, AVRs should work.

I have also ordered this product, and will provide an update soon.
