15" ATC SB75-375SC

I bought a pair of the 15" ATC SB75-375SC awhile ago and I'm wanting to shift one. This is the short coil in long gap version - the best that ATC do.

This is in immaculate condition and perfect working order. Its been mounted in a test cabinet but I used washers so there's no marks from the screw heads. At the moment its screwed to a piece of MDF, this is how ATC ship these large and heavy drivers to ensure they arrive saftely and at around 15kg a piece its a wise move. All the original packaging is included. Like I said before the driver really is in immaculate condition.

From my brief testing, its clear that this driver is more than suitable for use upto 1Khz and higher if you don't mind the narrowing dispertion that any 15" used up high gives, it also plays low indeed. In the ~110ltr sealed test cabinet I used the slam and sheer transparency blew me away. The sound of ATC drivers is very intoxicating, rich, smooth and very controlled. I also noticed it played cleanly down to 20hz and had more SPL capacity than I dare tap into.

TS Parameters:

Fs: 23hz
SPL (1w/1m): 94 dB
Qms: 1.6
Qes: 0.34
Qts: 0.283
Vas: 486 ltrs
Cms: 0.0006.5 m/N
Mms: 75 g
BL: 14 Tm
Sd: 900cm2
Linear Xmax (peak-peak): 25mm
Z: 8ohm

I paid £330 each for these beauties direct from ATC.

Asking a stupidly low £150 for this superb driver. You really won't find better at virtually any price. Collection is most welcome from Chesterfield Derbshire or can post, though bear in mind that they weight over 15kg with the packaging, it could be very expensive to ship abroad, well worth it though because these drivers are some of the best on the planet.

15" Acoustic Elegance (aka Stryke) AV15 mk2

Bought around 4 months ago from Marshall Chong Audio: http://www.mcaudio.co.uk/audio-bass.htm

This driver is completely in as new condition. It has never been installed in cabinet and only tested very briefly to ensure it was in working order on arrival from MC Audio, so this hasn't been run in at all.

Nearly 2"(46mm) peak-to-peak excursion with a 15" radiating area means lots of displacement for deep bass.

The sub has been stored in its original and hefty packing box for complete protection, this will also ensure that it will withstand even a vicious beating from the postman should such a thing happen.

I've never heard it running but from the accounts spread around the net, its an extremely nice sub for the money and I'm offering this perfect example at a fraction of the RRP.

Please note that this is dual 4ohm voice coil driver, so wired in parallel means an 8ohm load and series is 2ohm.

Qts: 0.471
Qms: 5.293
Qes: 0.517
Vas: 140.1 ltrs
Fs: 22.39 Hz
Xmax: 24 mm
Sd: 830 cm2
Sensitivity: 91dB (1w/1m)

Also includes TS spec sheet with the driver.

Paid £189 asking for £100 + postage

Damn, why advertise them now when I have no money!!!!!

Could you hang on to the ATC until the start of next month for me? I could collect it this weekend if you need the room 🙂 I'm just short of cash until payday 🙁 (end of the month).

Hi Shin,

i'll take the ATC. Please contact me for a posible combo deal on both drivers.

Hi Andrew

Since Puggie has offered first, I'll wait to see if he's OK with that. If not then I'm sure we come to sort of arrange for both the ATC and AE drivers.

ATC sold. Thanks for all the interest on that one, only wish I'd got 10 to sell!

The AE AV15 doesn't seem to be getting anywhere near the attention it deserves. Come on tight gits, £100 is cheap for the performance on offer. Afterall £90 gets you a rather naff Peerless XLS 10", the AV15 says bite me to 2x XLS10's 😀

Are folks in the UK scared of decent bass or something? 😛

Tony, still got your box and LR calcs? Might be useful to have somewhere to start. 😉

Values required for LT:

Transform is down to 15hz -3dB anechoic with ~15dB of gain at the extreme (well within the 20dB recommended limit). This should offer massive bass in room with a flat response to 15hz being entirely feasable and probably more. I worked out the max SPL for a single AV15 with LT will be 105dB @ 15hz in an average room with 6dB gain @ 15hz.

BTW: I messed around with C2 to get reasonable values for R1, R2, R3 and C1, C3 so that the resistance was kept to within sensible values to prevent noise and also to allow good accuracy when selecting values from farnell.
I always use Rod Elliots P71 LT PCB's because these allow resistor to be run in series and caps in parallel to get close to the ideal values and also to allow best operating conditions from using values only within the accepted ranges for best sound quality.

Box Design:

And the box itself is 95ltrs internal volume (NET). If you've got Corel Draw I have scale drawings of this design with all cutting worked out already. Here's the sketch and modelled response with the LT in place along with 1 band of very slight PEQ to flat the slight hump in the 50-80hz response that an uncorrected driver shows:
