UHER 4200- mechanical playback noise

hi- just had delivered the above in mint condition- however there is large noise whilst in play- it gets quieter on lower speeds- worst at the highest- guy said it was just fully serviced

sorry john - i have no means of recording to laptop- its a sort off whirring metallic sound- like something touching a disc brake

Does it make the noise without tape loaded?
Same noise in play or FF or REW?

Sounds like whoever serviced that machine was not well-versed in servicing.

according to experts - SDS SPRANG DATENSYSTEME UHER Service- the problem is the rubber has gone hard on the flywheel- i think i agree
