hello all,
I'd like some input in what would be the best way to orientate my UcD180 modules in the case.
They'd have to be in sideways so I can reach the jumpers I have attached to short the input caps.
I've got it boiled down to 2 options.
The first I like best because the output coil of both amps are not directed towards the input. Slight worry about the one coil not being able to radiate its warmth freely (obstructed a bit by heatsink; but still in relative free air)

Works flawlessly😀
Thanks both for your input.
The score is now 1-1.
Dan, can you give me an estimate on how warm the coils get?
Thanks again,
cheers,
Johan

I never measured it, but it gets not more than handwarm, even not hot. Depends if you party with it or not, but even you'd heat it up extensively, no harm would occur. In fact, after saturation because of the heat, the coil will "see" the winding without the ferrite (because of the saturation, the ferrite would be virtually absent), and thus it change its value. Sound would change, but as I said it is nearly impossible to go that far.
