Two different versions of Adcom 555 ????

I'm in search of a used Adcom 555 or 555II and I've found two GFA555 near me, but they are totally different cosmetically. Anyone know the story here?

I've had the GFA555's in the repair shop on occasion, not the 555II's.
I do know that they often suffer from overheating and some design issues that need attention and modifications.
I've had to install a cooling fan system in them (was an option).
