Tv Flyback For Esl (eht Remplace).

Hi, in the moment i work a EHT for my ESL... In the moment the panels have a

- 125x25 cms the dimention
- 2mm transparen acrilic
- 12um Mylar
- Grafite paint in a diafragm
- 2 toroides 50va (230 to 6v) recoment for Calvin

My money out !!! In the moment my Eht requiered a more condenser, $$$... I look a theory in WEB over ESL panel with a Flyback for TV... In the moment i have a lotes the Flyback in my home... 1.5Kv to 28.500v...

In the Moment my ideas is mount a 4.5Kv flyback in my esl...

Recomend a method ????

I've used that circuit before for HV experiments,it works well..

Use a flyback with an exposed section of core,so you can wind your own primary, and feedback winding.
For the primary I've used 12-14 gauge wire, the feedback winding can be smaller.. 24awg,or something.

I've noticed that if you pull one transistor out of the socket (I had one *poof* on me,so I just yanked it) it seems to run at a higher frequency, and sometimes with more output voltage.

A decent 12-15Vdc supply, capable of a few amperes is required.

- I would say this is a very energy inefficient way to create the EHT for your panel
- You might want to use the focus output instead, the voltage there will be more in the range you need. And you van regulate it.

An even cheaper way to generate EHT is to use the inners of an electric flycatcher (mosquito racket). You can easily modify them for more output voltage. Try google 😉

Don't know the situation in your country but here they only cost a few euro's.

Hi,
The diode-capacitor voltage multiplier is inexpensive and simple to build. It would work directly from mains , but i recommend to separate it by placing two small 220-12 or similar trannies back-to-back.
Everything can even be soldered on pre-drilled board.
The whole supply costs ~10 Euros to build(in my country) , with neon lamp leakage indicator.

Lukas.

The multiplier method is really simple...
You want a high Z source anyhow...
Typically a 100meg or higher resistor is used to supply the diaphragm anyhow.

The issue with those HV electronic "mosquito" killer supplies is that they radiate noise which I don't want or need around my system. It would be more work to quiet them down then they are worth imho.

Similar problem with the flyback xfmrs, they need a pulsed source to run = noise.

The people who sell electronic parts and replacement TV parts sell all in one multiplier stacks, pretty cheap, if ur lazy. We're talking a handful of diodes and caps...
