I want to build a power supply with a pair of Tungar bulbs for my Supravox field coil drivers.
I need 14V 5A aprox. for each driver.
Sure, I will need a bit of help for this project.
Thanks in advance.

Soon, I will receive a pair of Gordos G45 (same as GE 99x45).
These bulbs can deliver a maximum output of 20A DC and up to 25V DC.
Filament requirements are 2.6V 34A

Much easier and cheaper and smaller to use a silicon bridge rectifier.
And definitely a much longer life.

Yes, thanks, you are right, but this is a fun project.
I already have a silicon solution for the field coil drivers.
I don't find any public project about Tungar bulbs anywhere.

FANTASTIC more power to your elbow 🙂 I remember an ex RAF battery charger in a place I used to work with two tungar rectifiers and a huge multi tapped transformer in shellac or something similar with half the insulation falling off from age & baking, I was scared to death of the thing, that would have been mid 60's hahaha dont remember the ratings but needed two people to move it and about 2ft wide X 2ft tall X 18" deep, made big purple discharges when running, woww wish I had tungars some now 🙂🙂🙂

Yes, tipical uses of Tungars were battery chargers and also were used in the power supply of field coil drivers.
I know the PS not will be lightweight but I hope can move it!
I apologize for my mistakes when I write in English.
