Tube tester settings?

Hi all, I am trying to test some 2A3's and just realized that none of my tester data has settings. The two testers I have that have sockets that a 2A3 will fit in are a Heathkit TC-1 or a Sylvania type 140. Thought maybe someone here may have them or could point me in a direction to look. I've yahoo'd and googled with no luck. Thanks in advance for any advice, Jay

Hi jaymanaa,
The only thing I can suggest is to grab some tube manuals and compare known settings with the specs on your 2A3. I can't remember which tube it is, but there is a 6 V tube that is roughly equivalent to your 2A3. Someone around here will know.

You are only going to get emission readings with those testers. try to pick up a "Dynamic Mutual Conductance" tester. One example would be the Stark 9-66, or most of the Hickok types. An American military TV-7 is another well known example. Most of these are Hickok designs built under license. You can do some research on this.
