tube temperatures

Hi there,

I searched and searched for this and believe it or not, couldn't unearth any info!!!

I have 12AU7, 12AX7 and ECL86 (6GW8) tubes. What kind of temperatures do the tubes reach?

Any ideas, someone out there must have a good idea on this!

Which part of the tube? The cathode, plate, and glass envelope all will have very different temperatures.

Also - its the glass envelope temp I mean...


from the lit. the 12AX7 seems to max out at about 110degC. I suspect the ECL86s will be significantly higher... maybe upto 150 - 180 degC
