I received a MF tubalog from a friend and was wondering if there's anything I could do with those brownish caps in the tube buffer circuit.
can anyone tell me what type of caps r these (brown epoxy coated that is shaped like a pillow)? Also, what does, say, 474J means?
help needed!

Those are most likely film caps, should be okey. The numbers are referenced to pF. the first two digits are values and the third are how many zeroes behind. So 474 is 470000pF=470nF=0.47µF
(103=10000pF=10nF=0.01µF, etc, etc)
(103=10000pF=10nF=0.01µF, etc, etc)
Sund like generic mylar/polyester caps, the "j' is most likley denotes the tolerance
