Hello All,
Just to describe my experience in building Elekit TU-8600. I bought the kit as well as the optional upgrades through Victor.
The PCB layout was great and in no time i had the resistors mounted and soldered. Soldering with Weller using 350 Deg and WBT silver solder was the best and resulted in a clean job.
Then i got the Diodes followed by the Capacitors on the board.
After every step i used a magnifying glass to make sure that there are no bridges whatsoever and to inspect the solder joints.
Next i soldered the special PCB victor supplied for the Lundahl, mounted the main board to the chassis and fixed the transformers in place
I connected all the cables, fixed the tubes, powered the amp and did a quick test with all the test points.
I knew at this stage that everything was right, connected the amp and voila there was sweet music on my speakers.
Victor has been an amazing guy, who responds faster than lightning, I needed help on the ALPS pot and in no time Victor sorted it out. Victor's passion for the hobby is tremendous.
The amp sounds great and it stunned my Primaluna dialogue premium Amp , It is dead quiet and the sound-stage is amazing, Nils Lofgren- Keith Don't Go came alive and i could hear details which were all hidden before
I am totally impressed and a big shout out to Victor for everything.

Nice! was looking into this myself, as it can't hurt having a lower powered amp. Could you post some 1000 Hz square test signal oscilloscope traces? I am interested in the amp's response.
What was the trouble with the Blue Velvet pot? On a different project of mine, I received a defective one from Mouser, quite the shocker, as they are so darn expensive. Luckily they replaced it immediately, but still, it seems the quality control is going down over there.

the POT i received with the kit was 8 pin, i had to buy a new one from mouser. i don't have access to an oscilloscope, however this is something i want to do at a friends house in the next two weeks to measure the response

Maybe you know this already, but just to be safe: as this is a tube amp, you'll need the proper loads over the secondaries at all times, either some cheap speakers or some 20-50W 8R resistors.
