I'm trying to repair a NAD 218 THX amp. I need 3- B1317 Mosfets and 2 D1975's. I found the 1317's on ebay but I cannot find D1975's anywhere!
I am holding off on ordering the B1317's until I find a source for the D1975's, perhaps someone has both parts.

2SB1317 and 2SD1975 are BJTs not mosfets. The schematic is found here AVforum.no - Nad 218 Thx reparasjon.
You can use 2SC3281 and 2SA1302 as replacements if you can't find the originals. I would replace them all not just the ones that appear to be bad.

interesting that you are searching for the exact same bjts as i am, both the d1975 and b1317, i have 5 of each in a denon avc-a1 amplifier......so much for all this high end flagship "unique sound".... this is one of the reasons i love tube amps... so many different models that actually are different where it matters.......
What that has to with finding replacement BJTs for the guy I don't know.
DENON used to make some very good Hi-Fi. The PMA series especially the PMA737 was very good. Maybe not in the Ultra-Fi league but excellent value for money.
THEN they became popular and the Bean Counters started to interfere. Like all High Street manufacturers, everything is now made to a budget.
Some manufacturers exploited this by using different brand names for their high-end and high-street products. I'm not aware of Denon employing this tactic.
Philips = Marantz for example, I can think of several others but I'll need to check on them before quoting them.
By the way, I've checked my normal source for obsolete components http://www.cricklewoodelectronics.co.uk and they don't list them. You could try http://www.littlediode.com.

530 pounds per bjt..... id bin the entire amp if i had to spend half of that for all of them! either they are made from blood diamonds or that price was pu there for a joke?
i dont know what the nad amp is worth, but the denon i have (has corroded boards from water damage) was around 1000 pounds in its day... probably worth far less than that now..... so sadly it looks like the end of the road for it, but on the plus side, perhaps i should test the bjts and put them on ebay.... for around 529.95!!!
good luck to the nad owner, when i get around to testing the bjts i have, ill repost here and in all seriousness if you still need them i can sell them to you for a reasonable price, given they are used and out of a shot amp and in my belief that no one should pay such a stupid price for them.
