Triparh concerns

Hello to you all!

I've a friend of of mine who's built an tripath amp based on an assembled tripath module from connexelectronic (ta2010). I have made quite a few auditions in his studio room where mostly every part of his system is diy based on modules.

The performance of his system in the beginning was a bit shocking as an experience because I would never expect to listen to a diy system perform like this good!

An important part of his system is his power amp which as I said above is based on a tripath module.I didn't need much to go on the idea to build one for myself also to drive my loudspeakers and so I started doing some search in connexelectronic website and I made my mind with these;

A tripath module based on a ta3020

Connexelectronic

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

And a dual rail power supply

Connexelectronic

I haven't bought them yet as I still have some questions and I hope you can help me.

The above tripath module comes in different options. One is with STW34NB20 mos-fets (default) and the other comes with some extra cost with IRFP4321 mos-fets. Which of the two is better or is there any important reason to choose one of these two?

I had also a thought of buying two modules to bridge each on and use it as a mono to gain power, but is it a good idea as it has to do with sound quality?

And the last question. Is it better, in relation with sound quality, to supply the module +/- 50v voltage ( 2x200W at 4Ω, or 110W at 8Ω, with max. 0.1% THD+N) or with +/- 60v (Output Power: 2x300W at 4Ω, or 160W at 8Ω, with max. 0.1% THD+N)

Thanks in advance

Seriously??
Look into a Texas instruments Lm3886 'chip' amp.
Those are more easily (if careful) sourced as Genuine Chips.
That means NO ebay though..
Sounds substantially better, so there is unquestionable advantage.
Tripath has been dead for many years. Leave them alone.

Hi Bare.

Could you suggest me some good modules based on Lm3886?

I know that Tripath company has not been around for some time but there is a good reputation around Tripath implementations. As I told above I 've made some auditions and I was amazed.
