Tri Vista 21 word clock

Hi all,

I have the Tri Vista 21 DAC with the DSD1792 chip and was wondering if supplying a word clock to a RME sound card would improve the sound quality. The RME has a word clock module for I/O, and the Tri Vista only has connections for Toslink or coax.

What are your thoughts on adding word clock to the DAC?
Will there be sonic improvements with a Master/slave connection?
What parts are needed to add this connection to the DAC?

I would appreciate any comments on this idea...

Please be easy on me as I am not an engineer, but have some useful skills as a beginner.

Thanks,

Mark

I wouldn't bother. Slaving to a word clock isn't really going to increase the sound quality, slaving the bit clock or master clock is what will help.

Synchronising the word clock is really for pro-audio applications, where you have a whole lot of different devices with complicated interconnections, and you want to keep them all working together. Doesn't help when there are just two devices.
