Transistor specs. Help!...do you know those units?

I have bougth to dismount, an enormous Zenith PC monitor...very good unit, in good conditions of operation, but having 500 watts power consumption...so.... was dismounted.

Very good unit...enormous heat sinks that can be used for audio, may transistors, big resistors, wonderfull capacitors and many SMD.

I could have some 30 Megahertz, 30 watts transistors...very nice units.

Well...good junk... having one big 12 volts fan blower also.

I will show you some units that i could not have identification, of course i can blow one to discover maximum colector to emitter voltage...blow another one to discover maximum power dissipation and maximum current.... i can assemble a small circuit and inject a variable frequency oscilator, to discover maximum frequency and the point of - 3dB roll off...but really...really a boering activity, as some of you may know those units of have some suggestion were i can search for them.

The MUR880 is a fast recovery diode, 8A, 800v.

Sometimes the prefix "2SA" or "2SD" or "BC" or "2N" etc is missing from the printed part number, take a guess and search google for it, If you get nothing, then try another prefix. If you have a PNP, and the search results in a PNP, in the right TO220 package, then you probably have found it.

It is very difficult to find specifications for obsolete transistors. Normally, one would use cross-reference guides to replace them during repair, rather than use them in new designs. With this in mind, I have provided the best cross-referenced spec sheets I could find when the manufacturer's spec sheet could not be found. But the cross-referenced part may perform quite differently from the original, don't expect to build a quality amplifier using them!!!

Also thanks the attention Ninja, the electrical problem in my appartment was fixed, with the help of many good forum guys...thank you.

Problem there was oxide and bad connections, one electronic lamp with the phase inverted, and wires loosen.... had to fix some screws and replace some wiring.

at one time i to was taking old monitors apart for parts thank god i dont have that job anymore😀

monitors are geting cheaper people are starting to just throw em out rather than get them repaired. i had to go to the dump last week and saw a pile of monitors there half of em where new.

im thinking to myself i could fix half of em😉

i meen really most of the time its the Vertical IC or the flyback.
