Ignoring DC resistance and assuming a constant turns ratio, does a greater number of turns result in greater efficiency for a given core?

I do not think that your question can be answered by a simple yes or no....
greatest efficiency is achieved when copper losses are eqaul to core loses, this is the starting point...

The answer to the stated questions is: Increasing the number of turns will reduce the flux swing and thus the core losses. However, it is not reasonable to ignore the wire resistance.
