I'm looking at buying a set of Tonsil "Excellence" Series speakers (2 fronts (EX1F), 2 surrounds (EX1S), and a centre channel (EX1c) ), and am finding it hard to find any reviews on the net.
I play a wide range of music, from classical to heavy rock, and have had a good listen to them, and like the sound they put out.
But as I'm not very experienced with speakers, am looking to hear from anyone who has some experience with Tonsil Excellence speakers to give me their reviews before purchasing.
Any advice would be welcome.

One might worry that speakers built by a company named Tonsil would have an, umm, "throaty" quality to them.

I don't know about exellence... I own some tonsil units, mostly tweeters, and a pair of 6 incher too. I did not found alot of info on the net such as their freq response sorry can't help there.
My experience with tonsil units, not the loudspeakers...
Using tonsil woofs in large IB resluted in low fat bass, yup it was really impressive for their size/price. Swap them in a sealed mini monitor, they were now punchy and crisp, agreable units. There are contraints, yes there are few... Don't know for the exellent range but mine had a poor chasis with really cheap terminals. The biggest problem I had with tonsil was mounting their driver to the bafle grrr
Alotted space for screws and other problems due to the lack of practical mounting area. Too bad, I know I always had some leaks arround... But you're not concerned about it as you're about to buy them 😉 Just realized 😛
Tweeters, well, though they are cheap and powerful ( mean they can take alot of power ) they are way too harsh for me, my taste, my caps or my room 😀 . I guess they worth the price I paid.

Not sure of quality grade about their loudspeakers, but it might not be as crappy as it seems...If it still cheap, you may want to try em before buying the whole lot.

Unfortunately I'm used to listening to 15 year old very large speakers and am finding it difficult to find the same sort of deep sound. I suppose thats what the sub woofer does though!! Also found the mid tones to be very clean, and the higher tones (which I'm guessing is the tweeters) to be quite clear as well.

Thanks, to everyone who had some information on Tonsil Speakers. Actually I kept looking (and a lot of listening) around at other speakers, as I decided I didn't want to invest my money in something that I couldn't get a lot of information about. I ended up buying a set of Dali (6006's) loudspeakers and am quite happy with them. Taken a bit of time to loosen up but are now doing the job I want very nicely. The centre speaker and surrounds are quite nice also to match, but the fronts are my favorites.
