Threshold S/500 driving difficult loads

Hi,

Have a pair of Infinity QLS speakers with 12 inch Watkins woofers in them (double voice coil). A pair of Conrad Johnson Premier Fives drive the mid/high section. I was considering a Threshold S/500 optical bias for the low end the Watkins woofers. Any thoughts? Can the Threshold drive that load?

I have a pair of same era Infinity Q5's that are equipped with the same the 12" dual voice coil woofers in them.
At one time I had the S500 with the e upgrade, S350e and S300MKII, and all are easily capable of powering the Q5's, as well as my current IRS Beta bass towers (8 - 12" drivers).
I ended up keeping the S350e, as it was the best overall performing amplifier of the 3.
The effortless power of the S500 is impressive, and like all earlier models where built to last.
I have a friend with 2 - S300 amps as well, and he powers Infinity Kappa 8s and 9s with them as well, which is no easy task as many have found out the hard way (impedance loads that can drop below 2 ohms).
I am still running a Threshold FET 10/hl for my preamp, also a nice performer.
